PSG Injury Crisis Boosts Chelsea’s Champions League Hopes

Laurent Blanc hit with FOUR injuries.

Chelsea will be boosted with the confirmation that Paris Saint-Germain, who face the Blues in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night, suffered four injury blows in their 2-2 draw against Caen on Saturday.

Yohan Cabaye, Marquinhos, Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura have all been ruled out of the Chelsea clash through injury, which will undoubtedly weaken PSG’s team.

Boss Lauren Blanc confirmed the injury list ahead of the Champions League tie:

“We have four players injured that will certainly be absent against Chelsea. [Blaise] Matuidi is less of a concern,” Blanc was quoted by the Daily Star.

“Against Chelsea we may be weakened, but what is certain is that we will play boldly, even if we have fewer options.”

The skillful Lucas Moura in particular will be a significant loss for the Les Parisiens with the 22-year-old a regular in the midfield, yet Blanc will have to hope that his players step up in the quartet’s absence.
