England hopeful Ings is believed to be in Spain this week, discussing a potential move to Real Sociedad, while Liverpool are thought to be at the front of the queue to sign Milner, who is desperate for more first-team football.

Who else is available? We’ve included both players in a European Out of Contract XI – so click through the list below to see who you might want your team to target come the end of the season:

GK) Sergio Romero (Sampdoria)

Argentina’s World Cup goalkeeper has been strongly linked with a number of clubs since his excellent performances last summer, most notably Liverpool, but so far nothing has come of it.

RB) Dani Alves (Barcelona)

The ageing Brazilian full-back might no longer be able to bomb forward down the right like he once did, but he’s still got bags of ability, as well as an incredible amount of experience playing at the top level.

LB) Maxwell (Paris Saint Germain)

Another experienced defender who could prove a useful signing for a number of top flight clubs. The 33-year-old has caps for Brazil, while his club CV includes spells with Inter Milan, Barcelona and PSG.

CB) Winston Reid (West Ham United)

The New Zealand international has been a key player for the Hammers since their return to the Premier League several years ago. However, he has ambitions of playing in European football, with Liverpool among those interested.

CB) Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)

The experienced centre-back made it all the way to the World Cup semi-final last summer while playing with Louis van Gaal’s Dutch side. There were rumours that van Gaal was interested in taking Vlaar with him to Old Trafford, but he ended up staying put.

CM) Nigel de Jong (AC Milan)

The former Manchester City star was another member of that Dutch squad, and another player van Gaal was rumoured to be interested in last summer. A battling midfield presence, he’d still put in a good shift for any Premier League side.

CM) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

The German midfielder has found first-team opportunities hard to come by between a number of injury problems. Arsenal and Manchester United were both linked with the player last summer, could either make a move happen this year?

RM) James Milner (Manchester City)

City’s midfield workhorse has played an integral part in their recent success – including two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup win. However, he’s desperate to be playing every single week, as he almost certainly would be elsewhere.

LM) Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have both shown an interest in the Ukrainian in the past, but have been unable to force a move through. With Dnipro set to be out of the way come the end of the season, he could belatedly make the move to England.

ST) Danny Ings (Burnley)

Despite playing for a struggling team, Ings has already scored nine goals this season. Liverpool were rumoured to be interested in signing him late on in the January transfer window, but weren’t able to make any progress on the deal.

ST) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille)

The experienced striker has scored 14 goals this season to ensure that Marseille are firmly in contention for the French league title. Will any English team take a chance on him during the summer transfer window?
