Liverpool have been told by Roma that they will have to stump up £37m in the summer for Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic, reports the Mirror.

The 24-year-old has been muted as a potential Steven Gerrard replacement, but the Reds rate the Serie A star at around £20m, which is £17m less than the Italians want.

What’s more – Liverpool would have to pay Pjanic a whopping £160k-per-week, which would make him the club’s highest paid player following Gerrard’s summer departure.
