The Italian international had another ineffective game in this Europa League second leg contest, which saw the Reds exit Europe on penalties in Turkey.

With only four goals in all competitions since joining Liverpool from AC Milan in the summer, Balotelli has certainly not been at his best at Anfield and his future will surely come under further doubt now.

Taken off towards the end of normal time, Rodgers did not acknowledge Balotelli, which seemed to anger the player as he gave him something of an evil stare as he made his way to the bench.
