Goalkeeper and defence:
Joe Hart – the England goalkeeper has been much improved this season and should continue as number one for City next term.
Pablo Zabaleta – the Argentine right-back is not a player who needs replacing by any means after continued strong form for the club.
Gael Clichy – the Frenchman should continue as usual at left-back, rotating with Aleksandar Kolarov in that role.
Vincent Kompany – still a big name at City despite a recent dip in form, the Belgian should remain as first choice in defence for now.
Eliaquim Mangala – after a slow start, the promising French youngster should progress and become first choice next season.
Midfield:
Fernandinho – after a great first season, the Brazilian has slowed down somewhat this term but is good enough to bounce back and remain a regular.
Yaya Toure – a huge player for City, the Ivory Coast powerhouse should continue as first choice in midfield next season.
David Silva – one of City’s best players on his day, the Spanish playmaker takes up a left- midfield role here with freedom to roam.
Jesus Navas – linked with an exit, but still good enough to be kept around on City’s right-hand side for next season.
Attack:
Sergio Aguero – linked with Barcelona as part of the Suarez deal, City surely won’t allow their best striker to leave anytime soon, and he should stay to form a sensational partnership with the ex-Liverpool man.
Luis Suarez – possibly moving for £100m, the Uruguayan would become the most expensive signing in football history, and has shown what he can do in the Premier League.
