Blues supporters were filmed abusing a black passenger on the Paris Metro following their Champions League match with Paris St. Germain last month, with French authorities hunting for the perpetrators.

Now despite the club attempting to clamp down on any poor behaviour from fans a similar situation has arisen with four people rumoured to be Chelsea fans being ordered off a train from Euston to Manchester on Sunday evening.

It is as yet unconfirmed whether the incident was racially motivated.

One witness said: “It was horrendous. They were Chelsea fans and they were being nasty and offensive. One passenger, a black man, moved carriages because he was disgusted with them. One girl was crying. The police got on and marched them off the train.”

The British Transport Police have released a statement on the matter, saying:

“Shortly after 10.30pm on Sunday, 1 March, officers were called to meet a Euston-to-Manchester Piccadilly train at Stoke, following reports of racist and abusive behaviour by a number of passengers, said to be football fans.”

It continued: “Colleagues from Staffordshire Police also attended. Officers asked four men to leave the train at Stoke. We have spoken to two witnesses, and investigations continue.”
