(Video) Liverpool 0-0 Blackburn Rovers FA Cup Highlights: Martin Skrtel Injury Overshadows Drab Tie

There was very little action at Anfield.

A serious looking injury for Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel overshadowed Brendan Rodgers’s side’s goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers in their FA Cup quarter-final clash.

The Slovakian appeared to be knocked out cold, after a fall following an aerial challenge with Rovers striker Rudy Gestede in the opening minutes of the tie. He was subsequently stretchered off, but came round quickly enough to give the Anfield faithful a thumbs up.

His replacement Kolo Toure had a first-half header chalked off for offside.

And it was the Ivorian that came the closest to breaking the deadlock, when his header from a free-kick grazed the post, but the former Arsenal defender should have done a lot better.

In a frustrating afternoon for the Reds, Liverpool – who were favourites to win the competition before kick-off – had two penalty shouts turned down either side of half-time, both involving Matthew Kilgallon, but on both occasions, the referee appeared to get the decision right.

The two teams will go back to Ewood Park, with a place at Wembley in the semi-final at stake.
