Although Jose Mourinho already has an exceptional squad of players to choose from, there are some signs that one or two players could be improved on in the big games against the very best opposition around the continent, with these five our suggsted targets for the summer…

1) Paul Pogba (Juventus)

One of the best young players in the world, Juventus starlet Paul Pogba has been repeatedly linked with Chelsea and would really add something different to their midfield.

2) Koke (Atletico Madrid)

Another quality young player who could improve Chelsea in the middle of the park, Atletico Madrid’s Koke could be an upgrade on Cesc Fabregas, who has really faded in the second half of the season.

3) Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)

A world class centre-back who has won it all, Sergio Ramos could be a great replacement for the ageing John Terry, as well as being an upgrade on the likes of Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma, with speculation he is stalling over a new contract at the Bernabeu.

4) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Perhaps an improvemt on inconsistent Chelsea playmaker Oscar, Marco Reus is surely leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer and would be a superb addition in the number ten role.

5) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

With Diego Costa not really on song in the Champions League this season, Chelsea could certainly do with another truly world class striker, and rumour has it Robert Lewandowski could leave Bayern Munich for around £30m this summer.
