Here are our picks for a Juventus vs Borussia Dortmund combined XI:

GK) Gianluigi Buffon – Juventus

The veteran shot-stopper may be getting on in years, but he is still one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

RB) Stephan Lichtsteiner – Juventus

The Swiss international’s tactics and morals are somewhat questionable, but he is undeniably a player of quality who yields results.

CB) Mats Hummels – Borussia Dortmund

Another season blighted with injury, but Hummels remains one of the top centre-backs in Europe, and is sure to attract further attention when the transfer window opens this summer.

CB) Giorgio Chiellini – Juventus

The Italian star has been an ever present for The Old Lady since his move in 2005, and would walk into almost any team in the world.

LB) Marcel Schmelzer – Borussia Dortmund

A solid performer for the Bundesliga side, defensively superb and pops up with the occasional assist.

DM) Paul Pogba – Juventus

Arguably one of the best players in the world at the moment, the French international is wanted by a host of top European clubs.

CM) Andrea Pirlo – Juventus

The genius playmaker is unlikely to have many seasons left in him, but while he is still playing he certainly gets into the team.

CM) Ilkay Gundogan – Borussia Dortmund

Returning from a lengthy layoff, Gundogan has proved just how important he can be for Dortmund. A complete midfielder.

CAM) Marco Reus – Borussia Dortmund

Another player who has been plagued by injuries recently, but when he is fit and firing he is one of the best around.

ST) Carlos Tevez – Juventus

The Argentine is still scoring for fun in Serie A, and has been the only mainstay in Juventus’ forward line this season.

ST) Alvaro Morata – Juventus

Beat out Fernando Llorente for a starting spot, and hasn’t looked back since.

He narrowly beats out Pierre-Emerick Aybameyang due to his impressive stats despite fewer starts.
