EH?! Arsenal would better off in Europa League, says Arsene Wenger!

Arsene Wenger has reacted to his side being eliminated from the Champions League by saying the club have a better chance of success in the Europa League, The Daily Mail reports.

The Gunners exited at the last 16 stage for the fifth successive season on Tuesday night despite a spirited performance against Monaco in the second leg, they were ultimately made to pay for their poor showing in London and lost the tie on away goals.

Frustration appears to have finally settled in for Wenger who has lead the side to just one Champions League final in 17 successive seasons .

After finishing second to Borussia Dortmund in the group stages,and paired with Monaco, many expected the Gunners to show signs of progression in reaching the quarter-final at least.

But following another disappointment it seems the Arsenal manager has had enough of failing to make an impact in Europe’s competition:

“Perhaps it would be better not to go out like this and make the Europa League, we would be more likely to win.” Wenger said
