The France international has endured an injury-hit campaign, and has been beset by repetitive adductor discomfort since the beginning of November.

Writing on his Twitter account, the midfielder wrote: “Great session this morning! First time with the group since individual work.”

Grenier returned to individual training on March 6, having not played for Lyon since the Europa League contest against Romanian side Astra Giurgiu in August 2014.

The technically talented midfielder has played no part in Lyon’s superb Ligue 1 campaign. With nine matches to play, Les Gones sit atop the Ligue 1 table on 58 points, two points clear of second-placed Paris Saint-Germain. Having drawn 0-0 with Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, OL are four points ahead of their Southern rivals.
