The Welsh wizard is the rumoured no.1 target for manager Louis van Gaal in the summer, and the Dutchman is prepared to land the winger at all costs.

Bale has come under intense scrutiny from the Santiago Bernabeu faithful this season, often jeered by his owns supports, which has sparked rumours that the 25-year-old could be unsettled in Spain, and open to a Premier League return.

De Gea’s performances this season, meanwhile, have earned the Spaniard a world-class reputation, with La Liga giants Real vying for him as the replacement to the susceptible Iker Casillas – and as such, van Gaal is reportedly considering using the keeper as part of a package to secure the former Tottenham Hotspur star.

However, with the Spanish stopper a fan favourite at Old Trafford, and with it surely being only a matter of time before Angel Di Maria finds his top form again, this could be a huge gamble from the Red Devils boss – if such speculation is true.
