The Metro reports that the Red Devils have made the talented German international their priority target for central defence this summer, and are now hoping to lure him away.

Hummels will surely not continue at a struggling club like Dortmund, who appear to have gone backwards this season with some poor form in the Bundesliga and a limp defeat at the hands of Juventus.

This will be good news for United as they still look in need of strengthening at the back, with Louis van Gaal unconvinced by his current options in that department.
