The Corsicans will likely be in desperate need for a goalkeeper when this season’s Number One, Alphonse Areola returns to parent club Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his loan deal.

The Franco-Filipino stopper has been a key figure for the islanders this season as they have climbed the league under Ghislain Printant and is unlikely to be allowed to remain at the Stade Furiani beyond the limit of his current deal.

Bastia have reportedly targeted Nantes stopper Remy Riou, but are also eyeing Sochaux’s Pele, according to L’Equipe.

However, should Riou leave for Bastia, the Canaries are believed to be considering Pele as a replacement. Even if the keeper extends his current deal at Nantes—as L’Equipe believe he will—then Michel Der Zakarian’s side may still attempt to bring former Toulouse man Pele to La Beaujoire to provide competition.
