Arsenal attempt awful April fools joke: starring Mesut Ozil & Santi Cazorla

Arsenal attempted an early April fools joke by trying to convince fans that they had partnered with kit manufacturers Puma to create the first left-footed football, with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil featuring in an advert for the ‘product’.

The originality may have been well thought out, but the timing was poor with the club tweeting out the information of the ‘left-footed football’ just after midnight in an attempt to trick fans.

Arsenal fans must be glad that their form on the pitch doesn’t mirror the quality of this prank as the Gunners go into Saturday’s game against Liverpool looking for their seventh consecutive Premier League win.

A win for Arsenal would create nine point gap between them and their rivals in fifth place which is a significant cushion at this stage of this season which the north Londoners wouldn’t expect to relinquish.

Despite their decent acting skills, Ozil and Cazorla will resume regular scheduled programming this weekend with club football back on the agenda.
