In the aftermath of the fight, winger Gaston Machin, from Instituto, ended up with four stitches on his face after a nasty cut that was caused by Mariano Barale after a punch to the face.

Tempers were running high throughout the game and both teams ended it with ten players after the expulsion of Franco Miranda (from Instituto) and Leon Marinucci (from Guillermo Brown).

Ciampichetti scored the first goal after 7 minutes for the away team, while Pablo Magnín equalised four minutes into the second half for Instituto. Maximiliano Badell then missed a penalty for Guillermo Brown in the added time which caused the situation to boil over.

The AFA have said they are looking into the incident, and both clubs are likely to face strong disciplinary measures.
