1) Basics
First, the basics: Nathan is a 19-year-old central midfield playmaker from Brazil. First-team opportunities certainly don’t look nailed on for the youngster at Stamford Bridge with competition from Cesc Fabregas, Oscar and co., but he looks a top class talent in that role for the future.
2) Made his debut last May
He’s certainly not experienced and will likely be loaned out to get playing time at senior level in Europe, perhaps to Chelsea’s partnership club Vitesse. The starlet only made his debut for Atletico Paranaense last May, and has not featured regularly for the first-team since then.
3) He’ll cost £4.7m
It is claimed that Chelsea will pay £4.7m for Nathan, which looks a good price and low-risk fee for a player who is likely to improve tremendously under the guidance of Jose Mourinho at an elite European club.
4) Same agent as big names
Nathan has the same agent as big names like Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian defender Marquinhos, so it’s clear he’s hot property if he’s being thought of as being in the same bracket as the world class centre-back,
5) Already a YouTube star!
