This is the second time is as many days that 20-year-old Sterling has been snapped using questionable substances, following pictures in the aftermath of the Reds’ 2-0 win against Newcastle United on Monday night.

Manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that he was going to have words with the player, but with these fresh images now coming out, sterner action may have to be taken.

The reports suggest the pictures of the pair were taken from earlier in the season at a bar in London, and now the club will have to speak to Ibe, who has been tipped for stardom by those in and around the club.

Sterling, who seems to be at the forefront of controversy at the moment, was also captured on camera inhaling nitrous oxide – better known as laughing gas – sparking concerns over his activity off the football pitch.

On a more positive note, he did at least let his football do the talking against the Magpies at Anfield on Monday night, opening the scoring at Anfield with a fantastic effort, while Ibe made his return from a six-week layoff and lasted until just before the hour mark.
