Monterrey manager suspended for ‘Clasico Regiomontano’ against rivals Tigres UANL

Monterrey manager Antonio Mohamed has been suspended for two games and will miss the local derby against Tigres UANL next weekend as well as the tie against bottom club Morelia in a fortnight – according to Record.

Mohamed was sent off during the game against his former team, Club America, on Saturday evening. He was initally hit with a one game ban for insulting the referee after a foul against Monterrey winger Candido Ramirez. However, he was later given an additonal one game ban for wasting time in the technical area after he had already been sent off.

The expulsion came with only with three minutes remaining, and he was so infuriated that after the game he entered the referee’s dressing room to continue making his point.

In addition to the two game ban, the FMF’s Disciplinary commission have opened an investigation into his post-match antics.

Club America and Monterrey eventually drew the game 1-1.
