Jose Mourinho’s Pensioners have reportedly sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in Ligue 1, and Sport Witness recently reported that OM had made a ‘verbal agreement’ to recruit Stade Malherbe Caen midfielder N’Golo Kante, ostensibly to replace Imbula.

The France U21 international has flourished under Marcelo Bielsa, becoming one of the legendary Argentine coach’s key men this season.

Les Olympians may fail to realise their title ambitions, but several members of the squad have seen their stock rise greatly this season—few players more so than Imbula.

However, the midfielder has recently revealed that he is content with life in Provence, and confirmed that he is looking forward to a future at the Stade Velodrome.

“I am very happy at Marseille,” Imbula began, as reported by Le 10 Sport, “I had a difficult first year, but it’s better this season.

“I still have two years to go here, I hope that that will be better and better.”

Chelsea were previously interested in the midfielder two years ago when he left En Avant de Guingamp, but were snubbed as he opted for OM.
