Here, we’ve outlined a realistic signing from every Premier League club that for Manchester United in the summer. Some of the players have already been linked at some point during the campaign and there are some that the Red Devils and manager Louis van Gaal are desperately crying out for.

Arsenal

Theo Walcott

The Arsenal mane would provide pace and an extra goal threat and that is the main reason why United should make a move for the England international.

It may look unrealistic given that the Gunners would ideally prefer not to sell to a rival but given that his contract expires at the end of next season, a tempting offer could change Arsene Wenger’s mind.

Aston Villa

Fabian Delph

The Aston Villa captain only signed a contract extension at the turn of the year, but that hasn’t stopped the Express linking him with a summer move to Old Trafford.

Central midfield has been a problem area for van Gaal at times this season and signing Delph would bring the energy to the side that has been missing for large spells of the campaign.

Burnley

Danny Ings

The Turf Moor hero will be available on a free transfer in the summer and United are thought to be in the race alongside North-West rivals Liverpool for his signature.

He has done ever so well in his first ever spell in the Barclays Premier League this season, scoring 10 goals so far for a struggling Burnley side and would be a suitable back-up option to Wayne Rooney.

Chelsea

Petr Cech

If and it’s a big if, David De Gea does depart for Real Madrid in the summer then United would need to target a world class goalkeeper to replace the Spaniard.

There aren’t many of those in the world, but one who is and could be available the summer is Petr Cech. Blues manager Jose Mourinho has already said he won’t sell to a direct rival which would be the only sticking point.

But Jose did allow Juan Mata to join United last season, so this deal can’t be ruled out.

Crystal Palace

Joel Ward

The Eagles defender is comfortable on either flank and would be a decent squad player at Old Trafford, but Palace would demand a high price as he has only recently signed a new deal at the club.

Everton

John Stones

It’s no secret that United will most likely sign a central defender in the summer and have been linked heavily with Mats Hummels but surely a better option would be to sign this highly-rated Everton youngster.

Stones has been excellent in a difficult season for the Toffees and is certainly going to be one of the best defenders in the long-term.

Hull City

Andrew Robertson

The Scot’s delivery with his left-foot is wonderful and should the Tigers get relegated he is the only player in their squad that could be of any interest to United as worries over Luke Shaw’s long-term fitness continue.

Leicester City

Liam Moore

An potential star for the future, who is equally comfortable at right-back and should appeal to the United boss as the youngster has all the tools to become a world class centre half if given the right guidance.

Liverpool

Raheem Sterling

Tough one to imagine happening given the heated rivalry between the two sides but Sterling is certainly a player that United could do with in their squad next season as they look to mount a title challenge.

Pace is something they have lacked throughout the season and the England international brings that in abundance.

Manchester City

James Milner

An realistic target because the versatile England international is out of contract in the summer and could want to remain in the North-West. The regular midfield role for Milner would be up for grabs due to the inconsistency shown from United’s current crop throughout this campaign.

Newcastle United

Ayoze Perez

Not many Newcastle players can say they’ve had a good season and Perez has probably been the stand-out performer as his goal against West Brom last weekend is likely to keep the Magpies in the division.

The Spaniard would represent a versatile option for van Gaal as he can play through the middle or in a number 10 role.

QPR

Charlie Austin

Austin has defied many of his critics this season as he has struck 17 goals in the Barclays Premier League for a struggling QPR side. He has proven that he can cut it at this level and with the Hoops relegation confirmed and their well-documented financial issues, he could be available on the cheap and would be worth a punt by van Gaal.

Southampton

Nathaniel Clyne

This one looks like it will happen as rumours strongly suggest that Clyne will complete a move to Manchester at the end of the season after it was reported by the Daily Star last weekend that United had upped their offer for the England international.

The right-back has been outstanding once again this season and will be an huge upgrade on Antonio Valencia.

Stoke City

Asmir Begovic

A signing that United should consider regardless if De Gea stays of goes as it is imperative that a top club has two top class goalkeeper and it doesn’t seem that van Gaal has much faith in his current number two Victor Valdes.

The Bosnian has been great for Stoke over the last few seasons and would surely jump at the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Sunderland

Costel Pantilimon

The former Manchester City stopper would not necessarily be the first choice keeper at Old Trafford but he has shown at times for Sunderland this season that he is a capable back-up option.

Swansea City

Ki Sung-Yueng

A long-term replacement for Michael Carrick will be needed in the very near future and the Swansea man could be the one to eventually fill those boots. Ki is an undervalued Premier League midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and also has an eye for goal.

Tottenham

Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris is reportedly van Gaal’s first choice replacement for De Gea in the event that the Spanish goalkeeper leaves in the summer.

Spurs are thought to value the Frenchman at £30million as reported by Mirror Online , which is quite expensive for a stopper but replacing the current number one will not be easy.

West Brom

Saido Berahino

The England under 21 star has gone one record in an interview with Sky Sports saying that he’s ready to play at a higher level and United have been linked with a potential summer swoop.

He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season but his current goal drought will ask the question as to whether he is ready to play for a club like the Red Devils.

West Ham

Aaron Cresswell

With Luke Shaw’s debut season at Old Trafford disrupted by various injuries, United have looked rather weak in that position at times without a natural replacement. Daley Blind can do a good job there but it’s clear that he’s more comfortable in midfield.

A move for Cresswell, who has been one of the signings of the season, would represent a shrewd piece of business by Louis van Gaal.
