The 32 year old Czech Republic has found himself in the unusual situation of acting as a back-up at Stamford Bridge, after a decade of being a virtual ever present, and is seemingly set to leave the West London club.

Pole Wojciech Szcz?sny had been Arsene Wenger’s first choice keeper up until a New Year’s Day horror show at Southampton and Colombian David Ospina has proven relatively successful as his replacement but apparently this will not prevent Wenger from landing Cech.

Cech is arguably still one of the best keepers in world football but given the great season Thibaut Courtois has had it’s unlikely Jose Mourinho will be able to offer the long serving goalie a prominent role in 2015/16.

When called upon this term Petr Cech has not been found wanting, conceding just 10 goals in his 15 appearances in all competitions.
