With rumours that Manchester United are the latest side to make an approach to sign Raheem Sterling, it’s clear new additions in attack will be needed, while Steven Gerrard’s depature to LA Galaxy also leaves a gap to be filled in midfield.

Read on to see how Reds boss Brendan Rodgers plans to deal with these departures, with some big names eyed up for summer moves to Anfield…

1) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

A £30m target, Liverpool are strong contenders to sign in-form Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, whose excellent form this season has shown he could be exactly what the club needs to help replace Luis Suarez last summer, as well as repairing some of the damage if Sterling does make the controversial switch to Old Trafford. Chelsea are also interested, however.

2) Pedro (Barcelona)

Available for a bargain £7m, Barcelona winger Pedro could be a smart piece of business if Liverpool can see off competition for his signature. The Spanish international may not currently be a regular in Luis Enrique’s all-conquering side, but has shown throughout his career that he can score and assist frequently from out wide, making him an ideal replacement for Sterling.

3) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

With Steven Gerrard leaving, it looks as though Juventus star Arturo Vidal will be targeted as an ideal replacement for the former England international. Liverpool have already bid for the Chilean international, but Juve are supposedly holding out for £25m.
