With the Blues seemingly keen on signing a new world class central midfield player, here’s a look at five other options for Jose Mourinho after seemingly missing out on the talented French international…

1) Koke (Atletico Madrid)

Linked with Chelsea in recent times, Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke will surely be on the Blues’ radar again this summer as an alternative option to add some spark and creativity to their current players in the middle of the park. Like Pogba, the Spanish international is another outstanding youngster with a great future.

2) Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

One of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season, Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin could be another strong candidate for Chelsea as they look for some physical presence and class in that department. Although he may not be in Pogba’s calibre, he would also surely be far cheaper than his fellow Frenchman.

3) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

One of the best in the world on his day, Yaya Toure looks like being on his way out of Manchester City this summer and has also emerged as a surprise midfield target for Chelsea in recent times.

4) William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)

Linked with Chelsea and other top clubs in recent times, Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is another top youngster in European football who could certainly add something to this side at Stamford Bridge.

5) Giannelli Imbula (Marseille)

Another Frenchman not quite in the same calibre of Pogba, but Marseille midfield starlet Giannelli Imbula has also caught Chelsea’s eye recently and could be an interesting purchase if the club do decide to look elsewhere for signings in that position.
