Monday 25th May 2015 will mark the 10-year anniversary of Liverpool’s remarkable Champions League triumph against AC Milan in a game that is regarded as one of the best finals in the competition’s history.

Ten years on from the Reds coming back from a 3-0 half-time deficit in Istanbul to win their fifth Champions League trophy in dramatic fashion on penalties, we look at what has happened to the players involved on that great night for the club.
GK) Jerzy Dudek
Despite his heroics in the penalty shoot-out Dudek was replaced as number one the following season by Pepe Reina and eventually left Anfield for Real Madrid in 2007 where he retired after four seasons in La Liga.
RB) Steve Finnan
Hauled off at half-time in Istanbul which turned out to be a tactical masterstroke by Rafa Benitez. Finnan signed for Espanyol in 2008 but returned to England two years later and retired from professional football after a spell with Portsmouth.
CB) Jamie Carragher
The Reds’ legendary centre-back retired from the game in 2013 after 737 appearances for the club and has since become a pundit on Sky Sports.
CB) Sami Hyypia
Hyypia departed Anfield in 2009 and made the switch to Bayer Leverkusen where he finished his playing career and then went on to become manager. After being sacked by the Bundesliga outfit in April 2014 he became Brighton boss in June last year but lasted only six months in the hot-seat.
LB) Djimi Traore
The error-prone Malian is now retired after spending two years in the United States with MLS outfit Seattle Sounders.
CM) Xabi Alonso
A player that has never been truly replaced since his departure from Anfield in 2009. Alonso proved his quality for Real Madrid for five years and helped them win a 10th Champions League trophy last season. The Spaniard is currently the driving force in the Bayern Munich midfield.
CM) Steven Gerrard
The Reds captain is the only player from the magical night in Istanbul that still at Anfield in 2015. But all good things must come to an end and he will depart for MLS outfit LA Galaxy at the end of the season.
AMC) Harry Kewell
The Australian, whose career on Merseyside was largely disrupted by injuries, left Anfield for Galatasaray in 2008. Kewell returned home to play for Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart and eventually retired in March of last year with Qatari’s Al-Gharafa.
RW) Luis Garcia
The Spaniard got Liverpool to the final with that infamous goal against Chelsea in the Semi-Final second leg at Anfield. Garcia left the club in 2007 to join Atletico Madrid and after initially retiring in January 2014, he made a short-lived comeback for newly-formed Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata.
LW) John Arne Riise
The fan favourite returned to Anfield earlier in the season for a charity game between Gerrard and Carragher. Riise is currently playing for APOEL in Cyprus after leaving Fulham at the end of last season.
ST) Milan Baros
The Czech striker joined Aston Villa immediately after the final and after spells at Lyon, Portsmouth and Galatasaray he is back where it started with Banik Ostrava.
