Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are set to bow out from the Premier League completely as they head for pastures new in the United States, but we take a look at eight players who could be saying goodbye to their respective clubs at the final whistle on Sunday.

James Milner – Manchester City

The versatile England international is reportedly stalling on a new deal at the Etihad Stadium and with Liverpool and Arsenal both in the mix to sign him on a free next month, Sunday’s home game against Southampton could be Milner’s last game in City blue.

Raheem Sterling – Liverpool

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the young winger will honour the final two years of his contract despite reports that he won’t sign a new one. But with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all watching developments closely, it could be Sterling’s final game for Liverpool.

Mario Balotelli – Liverpool

Another Liverpool forward that could be saying goodbye is Balotelli. His move from AC Milan last summer has not lived up to expectations and his return of  just one league goal this season looks like costing him his career on Merseyside.

Robin van Persie – Manchester United

The former Arsenal striker has struggled with injuries all season and with manager Louis van Gaal looking to bring another centre forward to the club in the summer, it would appear van Persie’s days at Old Trafford are somewhat numbered.

Yaya Toure – Manchester City

Following comments from Toure’s agent (via Sky Sports) earlier in the month there has been increased speculation that the Ivorian midfielder could be leaving the Premier League in the summer to join up with his former boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.

Petr Cech – Chelsea

The world-class goalkeeper is expected to bring an end to a decade of services to the Blues this summer as he looks for regular first team football after losing his spot to Thibaut Courtois at the beginning of the campaign.

Theo Walcott – Arsenal

As the Gunners have an FA Cup final against Aston Villa next week, this may well prove to be Walcott’s final League outing for the club at the Emirates Stadium. With contract talks still unresolved and his lack of game time at the moment, it is possible that the winger could seek a new challenge in the summer.

David De Gea – Manchester United

One transfer that many expect to happen is of De Gea swapping Manchester for Madrid.  The United keeper has been brilliant this season and the club will do well to keep him away from the clutches of Los Blancos.
