Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be doing the bulk of his shopping in Spain in this summer’s transfer window, with six La Liga stars reportedly on his radar.

The Portuguese tactician made some successful raids on the Spanish top flight last year, bringing in Diego Costa and Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid, as well as Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.

These buys helped Chelsea win the Premier League title in 2014/15, and Mourinho now hopes to repeat the trick by bringing in a number of these six La Liga-based players, including a former Arsenal man and a top target for Manchester United…

1) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Valued at around £43m, Atletico Madrid winger Antoine Griezmann enjoyed a superb first season with the club last year, notching up an incredible 25 goals from out wide. Certainly an upgrade on Juan Cuadrado, the Frenchman is now being strongly linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

2) Arda Turan (Atletico Madrid)

A player being offered to Chelsea in a swap deal for Filipe Luis, Turkish midfielder Arda Turan is another Atletico star who could be on his way to Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old has been linked with the Blues in the past and is also believed to be a top Liverpool target.

3) Alex Song (Barcelona)

Formerly of Arsenal, Alex Song has struggled for playing time at Barcelona and spent last season on loan at West Ham United. Now back at Barca, Song surely seems set to be on the move this summer and would make a decent squad player for Chelsea, as they eye him up to replace John Obi Mikel.

4) Jose Luis Gaya (Valencia)

An exciting young left-back linked several times with both Chelsea and Arsenal, Valencia starlet Jose Luis Gaya could be a great signing if Filipe Luis does leave the club, playing understudy to Cesar Azpilicueta and eventually replacing his fellow Spaniard.

5) Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

One of the best young defenders in Europe, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane continues to be linked with Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho a big fan of the player he handed his debut to during his time in charge at the Bernabeu. Still only 22, Varane could make a fine partner for John Terry at the back and eventually replace the legendary Blues captain.

6) Toby Alderweireld (Atletico Madrid)

After a successful season on loan at Southampton, Atletico defender Toby Alderweireld is another La Liga star being considered by Chelsea this summer as they look at defensive reinforcements.
