Manchester United rumours

With Manchester United reportedly being told to cough up a ridiculous £63m to sign Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos this summer, here’s a look at three players the Red Devils could bring in for slightly less than that, including a superb striker also wanted by rivals Liverpool…

1) Miranda (Atletico Madrid)

A world class defender supposedly available for just £20m this summer, Atletico Madrid star Miranda would be a much better option for United in central defence, costing less than a third of what Ramos would.

2) Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund)

Valued at roughly £19m, it is thought that United could also be in the running to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, and the classy German international would be a slightly cheaper option than rumoured top target Morgan Schneiderlin.

3) Carlos Bacca (Sevilla)

Finally, United could solve their issues up front by meeting the £21.3m release clause to sign Sevilla goal machine Carlos Bacca ahead of rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.

Total cost: £60.3m
