This deal follows James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, and Roberto Firmino arriving at the club. Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne is expected to arrive at Anfield later this week, meaning that Adekanye would be the seventh signing in what has been a very busy transfer window for manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 16-year-old joined Barca back in 2011, but they haven’t been allowed to register the teenager as the move was deemed illegal by FIFA. As a result the winger was sent to PSV Eindhoven on loan last season, but didn’t make any appearances. He did impress for Holland at the Under 16s UEFA development tournament, but even so is likely one for the future for the Merseyside club.

Usually featuring on the left, the midfielder will be up against players such as Raheem Sterling, James Milner, and Philippe Coutinho for a place in the side. Sterling could be a good example to follow for Adekanye though. He joined the Reds at the similarly young age of 15, and has gone on to become a key part of the side before the rumours linking him away this summer such as this in the Daily Mail.
