Manchester City could field one of the best starting lineups in Europe next season if they land all the targets they want this summer, with the club set for an epic spending spree after UEFA relaxed their Financial Fair Play rules.

Paul Pogba is one of the big names possibly on his way to the Etihad Stadium, and this is how City’s new-look side could take shape, with Manuel Pellegrini sure to snatch the title back off Chelsea!

GK: Joe Hart

A world class goalkeeper, Joe Hart should remain as number one for City next season.

DR: Pablo Zabaleta

A key player for City at right-back, there’s no reason for Pablo Zabaleta to be replaced in the starting lineup.

DL: Aaron Cresswell

Wanted in a move worth roughly £15m, West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell could move to City after an impressive debut season in the Premier League, and would boost the club’s homegrown quota.

DC: Vincent Kompany

Perhaps past his peak, but Vincent Kompany deserves another chance to impress next season.

DC: Eliaquim Mangala

A talented youngster who needs time to settle, Eliaquim Mangala should remain first choice in defence next season.

MC: Fabian Delph

In an £8m deal, Aston Villa and England midfielder Fabian Delph could be an addition in midfield and another boost to City’s homegrown numbers.

MC: Paul Pogba

In what would be a stunning swoop, Juventus starlet Paul Pogba is being linked with a £70m move to the Etihad and would certainly replace Yaya Toure in the middle of the park, with the unsettled Ivorian possibly set to join Inter Milan.

AMR: Raheem Sterling

In a £45m move from Liverpool, Raheem Sterling is sure to join City this summer as they look the only club willing to fork out big money for him, and the 20-year-old would be another exciting and homegrown purchase for Pellegrini’s side.

AMC: David Silva

Playing just behind the main striker, David Silva remains one of City’s most important players and should keep his place in the starting XI.

AML: Kevin De Bruyne

Out on the left, former Chelsea attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is a top target from Wolfsburg in a £35m deal, and the Belgian would add even more quality to this immense attack.

FC: Sergio Aguero

Top scorer in the Premier League last season, Sergio Aguero is one of City’s best players and should only improve with this kind of service behind him.
