Stamford Bridge side close in on Copa America star.
The West London side have reportedly won the race to sign the Internacional midfielder who is also said to have been interesting Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger (via the Daily Mail).
Aranguiz played a pivotal role in Chile’s triumphant Copa America success this summer, netting twice in their 5-0 win over Bolivia, playing in all his nation’s matches at the finals.
The versatile midfielder can play on either flank or in a central role though is yet to garner any experience of football in Europe.
Aranguiz will have seen the success his fellow countryman Alexis Sanchez has enjoyed since his move to the Premier League, the former Barcelona man enjoying a superb debut season at Arsenal, and Internacional will hold back on talks on his future until after the club’s Copa Libertadores campaign according to the Daily Mail.
