Lukaku to Man Utd: Five strikers Reds should sign instead of overrated Chelsea flop, including shock Arsenal target

Lukaku to Man Utd – five alternatives.

Five strikers Louis van Gaal should be looking at instead of bringing Everton’s Romelu Lukaku to Man Utd this summer:

1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Wanted by Arsenal and possibly available for around £35m, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema could be a superb signing for United up front, and a more proven goalscorer at the top level than Chelsea flop Lukaku, who couldn’t cut it at a big club.

2) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

Another proven world class forward, Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski could be available for the right price this summer, though Arsenal are also thought to be surprise contenders for his signature as well.

3) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint-Germain)

Linked with a sensational move to Old Trafford this summer, PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic has long been one of the best strikers in the world and would make a great fit at the club, even if he is now 33 and past his peak.

4) Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)

A lethal goalscorer who has proven himself in both La Liga and Serie A, Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain is another more established attacker who’d be brilliant up front for the Reds.

5) Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Worth a staggering £40m, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been linked with United this summer and looks a better prospect than Lukaku based on recent form.
