Arsenal transfers: Ten French players Wenger should sign, including ‘new Henry’ plus Liverpool & Man Utd targets

Ten players to bring the ‘va va voom’ back to Arsenal!

Arsenal have a strong recent history of bringing in world class French players in the Arsene Wenger era, so here’s a look at ten possible signings the Gunners could make this summer to bring back the glory years…

1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Strongly linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema would be an awesome buy for the club to solve their striker issues.

2) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

A lethal young forward likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Alexandre Lacazette could leave Lyon this summer for around £35m and would be a superb signing, though Liverpool are also known to be interested.

3) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

One of the best goalscoring wingers in Europe, Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has been superb in La Liga and would fit in brilliantly in this Arsenal side.

4) Jeremy Menez (AC Milan)

Another prolific scorer from out wide, French winger Jeremy Menez has been excellent since making the move to AC Milan and could be a great buy to replicate what Robert Pires used to bring to the Arsenal team.

5) Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United)

A powerful midfield player who has shone in the Premier League, Moussa Sissoko has been linked with Arsenal several times in the past and could strengthen what has long been a problem position for the club.

6) Blaise Matuidi (Paris Saint-Germain)

One of Europe’s top defensive midfield players, PSG star Blaise Matuidi has been linked with Arsenal in the past and would be an ambitious signing for the club this summer.

7) Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain)

An exciting young playmaker, Adrien Rabiot has been linked with the Gunners several times before, and would be a good prospect coming in to the Emirates Stadium.

8) Loic Remy (Chelsea)

A target for Arsenal before he joined Chelsea last summer, Loic Remy has struggled for playing time with the Blues and could be a good signing if Wenger tries a double raid on Stamford Bridge this year.

9) Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

One of the best young defenders in Europe, Raphael Varane is not always a regular at Real Madrid and would be a terrific long-term signing for Arsenal at the back.

10) Nabil Fekir (Lyon)

Having recently signed a new contract with Lyon, Nabil Fekir has been linked with Arsenal this summer but may now be an expensive and ambitious target.
