Manchester United eye £82m pair to REPLACE £53m departing forwards

Manchester United are in danger of losing two forwards before the new season starts.

West Ham are ready to go back in to sign Javier Hernandez from the Red Devils, having earlier made a £9 million bid for the player [Metro]. Should the Mexico international leave it will leave captain Wayne Rooney as the only senior striker at Old Trafford, after Radamel Falcao’s loan ended and Robin van Persie joined Besiktas.

This is a major problem for manager Louis van Gaal. With an extra competition in the Champions League in the coming campaign, the 63-year-old will surely need more depth in the squad than this.

Man United Angel Di Maria: Five more stars who could follow PSG-bound winger out of Old Trafford

With Edinson Cavani supposedly desperate to join the Red Devils [Metro], it could mean that they are about to make another foray in to the transfer market. The Uruguayan could be available for £60 million.

That is not the only player that United are in danger of losing…

The Premier League outfit could also be about to lose record signing Angel Di Maria to PSG [Daily Express]. Moreover, the 27-year-old may leave for just £44 million, a £15.9 million loss on what they paid for the player just last summer.

The Argentina international managed ten goals and four assists last season, but became unsettled after a break in at his family home [Sky Sports]. This led to a seemingly terminal downturn in form, and Ashley Young was actually playing ahead of the former Real Madrid man before the end of the campaign.

If United end up losing Di Maria, it could pave the way for a move for a £22 million move for Barcelona ace Pedro to be completed [Daily Star]. Able to play on either wing, the winger could be a perfect addition to the United squad.
