Arsenal boosted as club ADMIT star could still be sold this summer

Arsenal will have been boosted by the news that Schalke may still sell Julian Draxler if a ‘brutal’ offer comes in for the player, reports Bild [via Metro].

The 21-year-old had looked set for a move to Juventus, but the Bundesliga side pulled out at the last minute. The chances of a move to Turin have now cooled off as a result according to the Metro. However, a transfer away from Veltins-Arena could still be on.

Schalke boss Andre Breitenreiter has admitted that he may find it difficult to hold on to the player if a huge offer comes in for the Germany international. With Arsenal yet to make a major acquisition this summer they may be open to making such an offer.

“I want to keep him 100%,” said Breitenreiter, “but I do not what will happen if we receive a brutal offer.”

However, it is debatable whether the Gunners need another attacking midfielder in their ranks. Arsene Wenger already has Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, and Aaron Ramsey to play in the position.
