Manager of Chelsea transfer target Abdul Baba Rahman wants quick resolution over defender’s future

Highly-rated Augsburg defender Abdul Baba Rahman could seal a transfer to Chelsea in the very near future, following comments from his manager Markus Weinzierl.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge all summer and the Blues’ are in the transfer market for a new left-back after allowing Brazilian defender Filipe Luis to rejoin La Liga giants Atletico Madrid last week.

His sale has left the West London outfit short of options to cover for Cesar Azpilicueta in that department and according to reports in German media publication Kicker over the weekend [via Star Sport] the reigning Barclays Premier League champions have agreed personal terms with Rahman and now need to strike a deal with last season’s surprise package in the Bundesliga.

With the start of the new season in Germany kicking off in under two weeks, Weinzierl wants a conclusion to the transfer saga sooner rather than later:

“It’s clear that I and all of us here want the facts soon,” the Augsburg boss said.
