Chelsea star heaps praise on Pedro following EXCELLENT debut against West Brom

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hailed the immediate impact from Pedro, following his stunning performance on his Barclays Premier League debut on Sunday afternoon.

The 28-year-old, who only joined the Blues from Liga BBVA giants Barcelona on Thursday, played a crucial role in inspiring his new club to their first win of the season against West Brom at the Hawthorns.

The winger broke the deadlock with a deflected effort after 20 minutes before turning provider for compatriot Diego Costa on the half hour mark and was generally a constant threat throughout his 84 minutes on the pitch.

Fabregas, who has played alongside Pedro at Barca and also for the Spanish national team, was delighted with the winger’s performance and expects him to give the Blues an added dimension as they seek to retain the league title and challenge for the UEFA Champions League this season:

“He was fantastic. I knew straight away he would make an impact in this team because basically it was something that we didn’t have in this team,” Fabregas said following the game [via Mirror Sport].

“It’s basically a player that goes behind defenders, that can dribble, goes one against one. He goes behind defenders and stretches teams.”

“I knew straight away the mentality of this guy is fantastic and I’m very happy for him,” the Spaniard added.
