Manchester United turn attention to Brazilian international following Pedro transfer failure

Manchester United are ready to switch focus to Lazio star Felipe Anderson following their failure to sign Spanish international Pedro, according to ESPN.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb campaign last term, his ten goals and seven assists proving key in the Stadio Olimpico side’s run to secure a Champions League spot, and it’s no surprise that there is growing interest in the former Santos man.

Louis van Gaal has seen his side register just two goals in their opening three Premier League fixtures and the Old Trafford side are yet to replace Robin van Persie following his move to Fenerbahce.

Felipe Anderson wouldn’t replace the Dutchman, but would offer a fresh option linking midfield and attack, and is a direct creative talent who could help provide some much needed ammunition in the final third.

ESPN claim Man United are tracking Southampton’s Sadio Mane, but believe the south-coast side will fight off advances for the Senegal international.

Louis van Gaal has invested heavily in his squad this summer, with the Dutch manager signing Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero.

The United boss has managed to balance the books with the sales of van Persie, Nani and Angel Di Maria.
