Arsenal ‘ready to complete £59m double swoop on transfer deadline day, including Liverpool target’

Gunners could pull off major business late on.

Arsenal fans could still have something to cheer about this summer as two main targets remain on the Gunners’ agenda in the final hours of the transfer window.

The north London giants have been quiet, only bringing in Petr Cech so far this summer, but are now considering a late double swoop worth around £59m that should majorly enhance their squad options.

According to various recent reports, the duo are as follows:

1) Edinson Cavani (PSG)

In a deal worth roughly £44m, Arsenal are being tipped to break their transfer record for PSG striker Edinson Cavani late on this summer, with the Gunners identifying him as a fine alternative to Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.

2) Asier Illarramendi (Real Madrid)

Secondly, Arsenal could try a late move to pip Liverpool to the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi, who’d be an ideal addition to provide more cover in that deep-lying role in the middle of the park.
