Gallery – Retro Football Shirts: Iconic Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid shirts given a modern twist

Here at Caught Offside we absolutely love football art, and little gets us going more than a beautiful retro football shirt.

There isn’t too much that can beat a snazzy effort from a bygone year, but something that possibly can is LaCasaca’s latest series on iconic shirts.

Only, these retro football shirts aren’t quite as you know them—instead, they’ve been modernised using contemporary logos, sponsors and manufacturers.

Check out LaCasaca’s latest offerings on their Twitter account, and have a flick through our gallery; let us know which of these modern/retro football shirts you love the most!

Be warned…after checking out this lot, you may find it hard to accept dull, modern football kits any more!

A modern version of Juventus’ unforgettable 1996-97 effort

Admittedly, it’s hard to see Chelsea turning out in grey and orange any time soon, but it’s intriguing to imagine John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and co. turning out in this modern version of a best-forgotten away kid from the mid nineties.

The 1995 grey away kit wasn’t everyone’s taste, but it’s hard to deny that LaCasaca‘s modern version of that vintage effort is pretty special!

Maybe these superb modern versions of Bayern Munich’s 1993 away kit would help Pep Guardiola’s side secure glory in the Champions League.

Real Madrid have always been one of the nattiest dressers in the European game, but it’s hard to deny that the Adidas logo and the Fly Emirates sponsor take their snazzy mid-90s styles to the next level!
