Manchester United star given 48 HOURS to prove he’s ready for Liverpool

Manchester United star David De Gea has been given 48 hours to prove that he is ready to play against Liverpool on Saturday, reports the Daily Star.

Manager Louis van Gaal wants the 24-year-old to show that he has got over his failed move to Real Madrid. The Spain international was set to move to Los Merengues, but ended up staying at Old Trafford after the necessary paperwork was handed in late.

This will have been a major disappointment for the goalkeeper, but he will now hope to get back in to the Red Devils’ first team. The stopper needs to play so that Spain boss Vincente Del Bosque picks him in his squad for the European Championships next summer.

Sergio Romero will not be happy with this news, having started every one of United’s six games to date. He will be the man to take the fall if De Gea returns. After being second choice at Sampdoria and AS Monaco for the past two campaigns, it may be best for United if this happens.
