Reds in ambitious swoop for Blues first-teamer.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revealed the club’s approach to sign Brazilian winger Willian before he moved to Chelsea, and that he texted the player himself about the deal.

Willian was in demand while at Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, and notably came close to completing a move to Tottenham before Chelsea hijacked the transfer.
