GK: Jack Butland (Stoke City)

Shining since becoming number one at Stoke City, Jack Butland put in another fine display against an impressive Bournemouth side this weekend, making five saves in a hard-fought 2-1 win.

DR: Daryl Janmaat (Newcastle)

Strong at the back and a danger going forward, Daryl Janmaat was one of the stand-out Newcastle performers against Chelsea, despite losing a two-goal lead late on.

DL: Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)

With two assists from left-back, Nacho Monreal was excellent for Arsenal again this weekend and is showing himself to be a key part of this Gunners side.

Another defender on the scoresheet, Virgil van Dijk put in one of his best performances in a Southampton shirt since he joined the club in the summer.

MC: Eric Dier (Tottenham)

Excellent in a new defensive midfield role this season, Eric Dier capped another strong display with a fine long-range goal to peg City back at White Hart Lane.

MC: James Milner (Liverpool)

Scorer of an early goal for Liverpool, James Milner showed what a matchwinner he can be as he ran the show against his old club Aston Villa to earn a vital win for the Reds.

AMR: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Back to his very best, Alexis Sanchez scored a stunning hat-trick as Arsenal beat in-form Leicester City 5-2 at the King Power Stadium. His third goal was the pick of the bunch, but he showed superb predatory instincts on the first two as well.

AML: Erik Lamela (Tottenham)

A player who might finally be showing his potential for Tottenham, Erik Lamela gave City a hard time in this big win, and added a well-taken fourth goal late on.

AMC: Juan Mata (Manchester United)

With a goal and an assist, Juan Mata did what he does best for Manchester United as they earned a relatively straightforward 3-0 win over Sunderland.

FC: Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

Back in the team after a nightmare with injuries, Daniel Sturridge looked back on top form to score twice in Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa, completing our Premier League team of the weekend.
