Technical director Franco Baldini leaves Tottenham by mutual consent

Italian technical director Franco Baldini has left Tottenham according to the BBC.

The 54-year-old has been at White Hart Lane since June 2013, leaving his post at AS Roma to move to the North London club, and has come in for some criticism over the two year period at the Premier League side.

Baldini had taken charge of Tottenham’s scouting and transfer business and the players the club brought in with the use of funds accrued from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid have, on the whole, proven fairly disastrous.

The likes of Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Vlad Chiriches and Etienne Capoue have already left the club whilst club record signing Erik Lamela is still to come anywhere near justifying the £30m invested in his services.
