LEAKED: Mourinho’s January transfer wishlist; Arsenal, Man United transfer targets wanted to save Chelsea season

Despite Chelsea’s miserable Premier League campaign, Jose Mourinho looks like he will be given time to sort out the Blues fortunes.

However, it looks certain that the Portuguese coach will need to invest in his squad in the January window in order to give the Pensioners a fighting chance of returning to the top four positions.

To date, the west London side have won only three matches and amassed only 11 points from their opening 12 matches, losing seven games.

However, Mourinho has both the raw materials and the fiscal resources to turn things around.

Here are the six players Mourinho wants to sign in January in order to save Chelsea’s season. Which players on the Chelsea transfer wishlist can help the Blues back into the Champions League?

Alexandre Lacazette

With Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao struggling to impress, Mourinho will likely invest in his forward options during the January window.

The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer, but may be drafted in in January if Mourinho can tempt the international hitman away from Olympique Lyonnais.

Gonzalo Higuain

As well as Lacazette, Gonzalo Higuain has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, as Mourinho steadily loses faith in Costa’s ability to cut it.

While reports have suggested that the Blues will attempt to move for Higuain in the summer, could the Portuguese coach attempt to move for the Argentine frontman in January?

John Stones

It’s no secret that Chelsea are keen on John Stones, having had multiple bids for the Everton defender rejected during the summer. The Blues’ defence has performed miserably this term, and Mourinho may well bring forward his plans to recruit the long-term successor to John Terry.

Marquinhos

However, if Everton continue to play hardball with Stones, Chelsea may need to move for Plan B—Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos.

With Thiago Silva and David Luiz establishing themselves as PSG’s first-choice centre-back pairing, the Brazilian youngster has reportedly begun to get itchy feet.

Could Chelsea capitalise?

Ruben Neves

The FC Porto wonderkid is something special, and while he may still be a teenager, he boasts the consistency and the class to make a difference for Chelsea.

He’s already lead the Portuguese giants in the Champions League, and looks destined for the top.

Marko Grujic

The Serbian youngster has insisted that he wants to remain in his homeland until the season’s end, but Chelsea have the resources to tempt Red Star Belgrade to an early sale.

PSG are also keen on the wonderkid, while Hamburg have already made a bid.
