Arsenal to jump in on Chelsea interest in Boca Juniors star Jonathan Calleri

Arsenal are reportedly ready to beat Chelsea to the punch for the signature of highly rated Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri, according to the Metro.

Calleri has emerged as a top target for a number of big European sides recently after chalking up an impressive 21 goals for Boca in the Argentine Primera Division this season.

It had been reported that Chelsea had reached an agreement to sign the striker in the new year, however, reports in Spain are suggesting that he could still end up at Arsenal as they look to hijack a potential deal.

Managers Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho appear on course to clash over the player’s services, and his future could prove to be one of the sagas of the January window.

It is also believed that Italian giants Inter Milan are also keen on landing his services and could launch their own bid to bring him to Europe.
