Liverpool transfer news: Klopp planning to up the ante in move for striking target; £9.5m bid planned

Caught Offside reported earlier this week that Jurgen Klopp is considering River Plate forward Lucas Alario as a potential summer addition to his Liverpool squad.

Reports on Saturday suggest that the German coach is now set to make concrete his desire to bring the Argentine attacker to the club, and will make a £9.5 million offer for the player this summer.

The latest information [via The Sun] reveals that Reds scouts have been weighing up the pros and cons of the talented striker and they have clearly advised Klopp to move for the forward.

Klopp is expected to oversee a major overhaul of his squad this summer, and with the likes of Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke yet to convince, and with Danny Ings and Danny Sturridge struggling with injuries, it is anticipated that the German coach will look to bolster his forward line.

Infobae noted earlier in the week that Liverpool attempted to move for Alario earlier in the year, only for a deal to fall apart.
