Arsenal closer than ever to signing £46m-rated striker as agent opens transfer talks

It seems more certain than ever that Juventus ace Alvaro Morata will become available for an Arsenal after his latest Instagram activity, but a much more tangible piece of evidence has emerged. The only way Arsenal can be expected to land the Juventus striker would be if the Serie A giants are forced to sell him back to Real Madrid first – and a huge step towards that goal has just been taken.

According to AS [per Sun Sport], Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez flew to Madrid on Monday to meet with Real Madrid officials over the Spanish striker’s potential transfer. Los Blancos have the option to trigger the buyback clause in Morata’s contract for £25 million, but all reports indicate that Zinedine Zidane’s side will sell the 23-year-old stud to the highest bidder – in this case, Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be highly interested in Morata and is reportedly willing to pay a club-record £46 million to bring him to Emirates Stadium this summer.

Morata scored 12 goals and made nine assists for Juventus this past season, including two of each in the Champions League. Last season Morata was named to the Champions League Team of the Tournament as Juventus made it to the Final before losing to Barcelona.
