Liverpool pipped to another top young talent by Dortmund; price tag snag gives Reds hope

Liverpool face being pipped to another top young talent by Borussia Dortmund, who have agreed a contract with Raphael Guerreiro according to reports in Germany.

Sport Bild understands that most things are in place for the Lorient defender to move to the Westfalenstadion next season, although the two clubs need to agree a fee.

And this is where Liverpool still have hope. French outlet L’Equipe claims that Dortmund have unsuccessfully bid £9.3m for Guerreiro, which is below Lorient’s asking price.

The Daily Mail claim that the Ligue 1 club want to get as much as possible for the 22-year-old full-back, who is out of contract next summer and off to Euro 2016 with Portugal.

Interest from Barcelona and Arsenal could hike up his valuation, although Dortmund still appear to be in pole position to land Guerreiro and thwart former manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Klopp saw his old club secure the signature of 18-year-old wonderkid Ousmane Dembele from Rennes last month, after Liverpool had been in the race according to The Mirror.
