Exclusive: Besiktas nearing deal for Man City full-back

Besiktas are in advanced talks with Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov a source close to the Super Lig outfit told Emre Sarigul.

The Black Eagles are currently ironing out the details of the deal. Besiktas have discussed a loan move with City but are closer to a permanent move for the Serbian international.

Besiktas are still under investigation from Financial Fair Play and have to be careful with their spending this summer.

The Istanbul giants are close to agreeing personal terms with Kolarov and want to keep his salary under £2.5 million per-season.

The completion of the deal will be based on whether Kolarov accepts the Eagles wage packet as the club will be unable to match financial demands which exceed their budget.

City are open to the prospect of Kolarov leaving and if all goes to plan Besiktas will disclose confirmation of official talks on the Istanbul stock exchange within the next couple of days.

Turkish teams listed on the stock exchange are legally obliged to release a statement confirming transfer talks before announcing the player as signing the club.

Besiktas plan to wrap up the transfer before the start of next week if final talks go to plan.
